The Assessment Department is responsible for the valuing of all residential, commercial, industrial and personal property in the City of Livonia and answers inquiries from residents, property owners, mortgage companies, prospective buyers, businessmen, appraisers, and government agencies.

Livonia Television features programs produced for the City by its own production staff and volunteers.

City Clerk

The City Clerk signs and records all ordinances and resolutions enacted or passed by City Council.

Oversees recruitment, examinations for employment and promotion, salary and wage administration, employee benefits, the application of rules and regulations.

Emergency Preparedness

Engineering

The Engineering Division inspects public construction work, reviews plans for public improvements, conducts engineering studies, prepares plans and specifications and administers contracts for the City's public improvement projects.

Finance

The Finance Department prepares and administers the general budget, keeps the City's accounts and financial records, and supervises purchases and expenditures.

Housing

The mission of the Livonia Housing Commission is to provide adequate housing and community development assistance, and to expand and preserve decent, safe and affordable housing for low and moderate income families. The Commission is further committed to providing quality services to our clients in an effective, efficient and respectful manner.

Information Systems

The Information Systems (IS) Department is responsible for the computer hardware and software used by the City. The IS Department assists other City Departments in evaluating, selecting and implementing computer systems. It also sets the standards for City computer systems.

Inspection (Building & Enforcement)

Inspection examines and approves plans, issues permits and Certificates of Occupancy, conducts follow-up inspections to residential and commercial buildings.

The mission of the City of Livonia Law Department is to provide excellent legal services to the City of Livonia, which includes the Mayor, City Council, City Commissions, and all City departments.
