Livonia Youth Commission The following is list of available scholarships that Livonia Residents may apply for.

Livonia Arts Commission Scholarship
Due Date:  March 8, 2019

Information:  Must be a Livonia Resident College Student or Graduating High School Student.  Livonia Arts Commission is offering $1,000.00 scholarships for the Livonia resident that will be attending college and majoring in categories pertaining to the arts.  Check will be made out to student and College of choice. Please contact Community Resources (734) 466-2540 for more information regarding applications or go on line at for the application.  Upcoming Events. Awards will be presented in April.   

Livonia Youth Commission/SPREE Memorial Scholarship
Due Date:  Friday, April 19, 2019


 Must be a Livonia resident attending school in the Livonia or Clarenceville Public School district, or a Livonia resident attending a private school. Must be applying to a community college, university or accredited technical school in Michigan.  Must be a member of the graduating class of 2018.  See application for other details. Livonia Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Program

Ian Clemens Foundation Scholarship - Engineering - Deadline April 13, 2019

Deadline: April 13, 2019

All required documents must be included, mailed via USPS and be postmarked not later that Saturday, April 13, 2019 in order to be considered for the award.  Mailing address: The Ian Clemens Foundation, 9950 Levan Rd., Livonia, MI 48150.  All applicants will be notified of the board's decision by May 4, 2019.

Scholarship Criteria: All Students Applying for the Fernon Feenstra Scholarship Program Must Meet the Following Criteria:

Applicant must plan to graduate from High school in spring 2019.

Available Scholarships                                                                                                               1.) Mr Sunshine Scholarship - This scholarship is available to all graduating high school seniors who meet the requirements below.  A GPA of 3.0 or higher is recommended.                                      2.) Schoolcraft College Technical Scholarship - This scholarship is available to all graduating high school seniors who meet the requirements below, and who plan to enroll full time in a technical skills program at Schoolcraft College in the fall.  Recipients of this award may also be eligible for a scholarship-matching program offered by the Schoolcraft College Foundation.  A GPA of 2.5 or higher is recommended. 


Must meet at least one of the following residency requirements:

  • Student is enrolled in a Livonia or Clarenceville area high school (including students whose primary residence is outside of Livonia or Clarenceville)
  • Student has a primary residence in Livonia or Clarenceville. This requirement includes students who are home-schooled or attend public/private schools outside of Livonia.
  • The applicant must have been accepted by and plan to attend a university, community college, vocational training center, or other qualifying educational institution.Proof of full time enrollment for fall 2019 must be available by June 2019. 
  • The applicant must submit two recommendations forms, one to be completed by a high school staff member and one to be completed by an adult in a community service program leadership position.  The recommendations may not be provided by a relative of the applicant.  The recommendations may be submitted with the application packet or separately, using one of the three methods stated below. 
  •  All components of the scholarship application packet (application form, essay, and two recommendations) must be received by the Kiwanis Club of Livonia no later than Friday April 12, 2019.  Packet information received after April 12th will not be considered.  Applicants may submit packets in one of the following ways. 
    • Hand-deliver the packet to Dawnne Toppa at the Livonia Chamber of Commerce before the close of business on Friday, April 12th.
    • Mail the packet to the address below no later than Friday, April 5th to ensure timely delivery to the address below.

Community Choice Foundation Scholarship Program
Due Date:  February 28, 2019

Information:  $5,000 scholarship paid directly to the college or university

Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale - Dedicated to their communities through volunteerism or public service - Plan to pursue a two or four-year degree at a Michigan college or university - Have a desire to live and work in Michigan after attaining a college degree.

Local Scholarships

Livonia Firefighters Local 1164 Scholarship: Deadline:          March 15, 2019

  • Two  $1000 scholarships

  • These scholarships are available to any Livonia resident who is a graduating high school senior from any high school.  

  • Requirements include a minimum GPA of 3.5

  • Two letters of recommendation (one teacher/counselor; one personal reference)

  • 500-word essay describing how they have made a difference in their school or community.  

  • Students may attend any college, university or trade school and choose any course of study.


Schoolcraft College Scholarships                Deadline:  March 16, 2019

Trustee Scholarship    $2000

  • 3.0 minimum GPA

  • SAT total score of 940 of higher OR ACT composite score 18 or higher

Award of Excellence $2500

  • high school graduate

  • 3.5 minimum GPA

  • SAT total score of 1130 of higher OR ACT composite score 23 or higher

National Association of Black Suppliers        Deadline:  March 17, 2019

  • This organization provides scholarships to graduating African-American seniors who have outstanding academic and community leadership and who plan to enroll full-time in engineering, technology, business, health-care or a related curriculum.

  • Scholarships are $5000 per year for up to five years and can be used for tuition, room, board and fees at a 4 year college or university of the awardee’s choice.

  • Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be a U.S. citizen.

  • The awards will be presented at a scholarship luncheon the Dearborn Inn in Dearborn

Amazing Women Scholarship

Information: An Amazing Woman Foundation awards scholarships, based on need and funds available, to young women, ages 10-18 who demonstrate a desire to pursue instruction or gain experience in the arts, including but not limited to creative writing, dance, drama, music or visual art. While we place a high value on post-secondary education, we are committed to providing the necessary resources for young women to seek education and experience at local studios, arts camp and workshops, and at this time, cannot fund collegiate or post-secondary education. at

Parkside Credit Union
Due Date:  First Friday in April

Information:  Parkside Credit Union is now accepting applications for their  annual competition.  Three - $1,000 scholarships will be awarded.  Eligibility: Any high school senior or undergraduate with a grade point average of 2.0 and a permanent address in Oakland, Wayne, Washtenaw, Macomb, or Monroe Counties.  Additional documentation and requirements apply.  Applications available online at and in credit union branch offices,  Call (734) 525-0700.
