Come Out and Play! Be a Parks and Recreation Volunteer!
There are three steps in becoming a Livonia Parks and Recreation volunteer:
1) Attend Volunteer Orientation Part 1
2) Complete an interview
3) Attend Volunteer Orientation Part 2
Volunteer Orientation is a general overview of our program focusing on the opportunities available at the Livonia Parks and Recreation Department. The agenda includes: welcome and introductions, a short history of the Livonia Parks and Recreation Department and the opportunity to sign up for an interview. Light refreshments are served.
An individual informal interview will take place to help us place you in the volunteer opportunity of your choice. Paperwork, such as a background check will be completed. A choice of appointment times will be offered during the week following Orientation Part 1.
Once you are sure of your interest in a Livonia Parks and Recreation option, the last step is Volunteer Orientation Part 2. This includes information on emergency preparedness, the mission and volunteer policies and procedures. Light snacks are served. Orientations must be attended in order.
You may attend both orientations on the same day (when available) if you choose. Part 2 is required before being able to volunteer and is required of all volunteers within 3 months of their interview.
To reserve your seat at the orientation to learn more about opportunities at the Livonia Parks and Recreation Department, please complete and return the Volunteer Profile. Training dates will be determined once your Profile is received.
