A big warm welcome to Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC)!

Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC), one of the nation's leading wholesale beverage alcohol distributors, started their move this past week into their new 550,000 square feet facility in Livonia. RNDC will be moving 450 employees to their new office over the course of the summer.

On Thursday, May 16, representatives from the City of Livonia and the local business community joined efforts to provide the team at RNDC with a warm hometown welcome!

It's exciting to see young millennials plant their roots and buy a home in what Realtor.com rated one of the hottest real-estate markets in the country. (nudge nudge that's us Livonia). It's even more exciting when those same millennial home buyers dream of opening a business just down the street so they can walk or bike to work. Did I mention the dream business was a micro brewery? Well that is what entrepreneurs and Livonia residents, Andrew Schumacher and Nathan Pastuzyn, have their sights set on.

Schoolcraft College celebrates students completing the Registered Apprenticeship Program!

Schoolcraft College recently held a celebration to recognize and honor the first students to complete their Registered Apprenticeship Program since it was reinstated at the college in 2015. Wellington Industries, located in Belleville, was the first company to sponsor apprentices Jesse Dennis and Tim Buffett, making them the first to complete the four-year program in partnership with Schoolcraft College.  Wellington currently has four more employees in the program.

Today, the College is working with 16 companies in 14 various apprenticeship occupations, with the majority being three and four-year programs.  Additionally, there are over 30 students currently working as registered apprentices and 28 in pre-apprenticeships.
