Beaumont to open comprehensive outpatient care campus in Livonia
Beaumont has identified the property in Livonia at 39000 Seven Mile Road, just west of I-275, to develop a new comprehensive outpatient care campus to open in 2020.
According to the press release statement by Beaumont Health CEO, John Fox, dated April 24, 2019, "We selected the site because of its convenient location close to major thoroughfares in a rapidly growing and thriving community."
The campus will offer convenient, direct access to the Beaumont Network of affiliated primary and specialty care physicians, emergency care, imaging, outpatient surgery, cancer services, physical therapy and many other services.
Beaumont is partnering with NexCore Group, a national health care real estate developer, to build the campus. NexCore will handle financing, development, leasing, property management and asset management.

ZF to acquire Auburn Hills-based Wabco in $7 billion deal
According to a the recent article in Crain's Detroit, ZF Friedrichshafen AG signed a definitive agreement to acquire Auburn Hills-based Wabco in a deal valued at more than $7 billion and is expected to close in early 2020.
ZF is a global leader in driveline and chassis technology as well as active and passive safety technology. The company has a global workforce of 146,000 with approximately 230 locations in some 40 countries.
ZF/TRW Automotive is the 6th leading employer in Livonia with over 1,300 employees based out of their Livonia offices.

From Mustangs to self-driving farm equipment? Roush expanding into new territory
According to the recent article in the Detroit News, Livonia-based Roush Enterprises is entering into the self-driving farm equipment market.
Roush has partnered with San Francisco tech start-up FarmWise to build self-driving vegetable weeders for farms.
According to a statement made by Roush CEO Evan Lyall, "The agriculture space presents lots of opportunity."

Congratulations to our Livonia St. Mary Mercy Hospital Emergency Department on your prestigious award!
The St. Mary Mercy Emergency Department was awarded Level 1 Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation (GEDA). Level 1 GEDA accreditation indicates that St. Mary Mercy has put in place policies, guidelines, procedures and staff (both within the Emergency Department and throughout the hospital) that provide a coherent system, elevates care and improves clinical outcomes for older adults. The hospital is the first in Michigan and eighth in the nation to receive GEDA distinction!

Livonia Police Department receives Accreditation
Livonia Police Department has been designated an Accredited Agency by the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police. (MACP)
Less than 20 Michigan police agencies have achieved the same voluntary status. Livonia joins Novi, Bloomfield Hills, Farmington, Farmington Hills and Northville Township in meeting the MACP's standards of excellence.

Livonia-based Angela Hospice names Marti Coplai new president and CEO
According to the recent news announcement, on March 6, 2019, Livonia-based Angela Hospice promoted executive director, Marti Coplai, to the new president and CEO.
Marti Coplai, who has been with the nonprofit since 2015, took on the role Friday, March 1, which was the last day for now retired Margot Parr, after taking the leadership role in 2015.
