Livonia's Public Service Department maintains parks, roadways, water mains, and most of the storm and sanitary sewer sewer main lines within the City, the City's fleet of vehicles and equipment (excluding Police & Fire) and the city's buildings and facilities.   Other services include planting, trimming and removing trees on rights of way, maintenance of street & traffic control signs on city maintained streets, and animal control services.

Please note that Wayne County maintains Inkster, Middlebelt, Merriman, Farmington, Wayne (south of Plymouth), Haggerty, Grand River, Eight Mile, Seven Mile. Six Mile, Five Mile, Plymouth, Joy, I-275 & I-96 including potholes, debris, repairs, snow plowing, salting etc.
