Veterans Resources

Department of the Air Force  United States Army  United States Coast Guard  United States Marine Corp  Navy

The dedication and sacrifice of our military members and veterans can never be fully repaid. Their fight for – and defense of -- our freedoms forms the remarkable backbone of our country. Like communities across the nation, the City of Livonia appreciates the service our military members and veterans have given to this country. In an effort to repay them for their service, we strive to help them as much as we can.

This “One-Click” resource guide is a list of services designed to assist Livonia veterans, military members, their families and the community with resources for transportation, medical services, housing and other assistance programs available.

Services listed in this guide include the City of Livonia, Livonia organizations providing veterans’ services and other state and local government services.

Any veteran who is a Livonia resident can qualify to connect to the VA Ann Arbor shuttle at Meijer in Westland through Livonia Community Transit.

Availability to ride Livonia Transit to the VA Shuttle is based on a first-come, first-serve basis and should be coordinated with Livonia Transit prior to scheduling with the VA.  Cost is $2.00 each way.  In order to qualify you must either (1) demonstrate financial need or (2) complete Livonia Transit’s ADA Application or (3) be qualified through the City of Livonia’s Property Tax Exemption for eligible disabled veterans.  For more information, call (734) 466-2700.
