Life When it's Snowy

Michigan winters may be cold and snowy, but animals have special ways to survive! Join us 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, in Greenmead Historical Park's Alexander Blue House as we learn more about amazing animals and their adaptations. Children will investigate the different methods animals use to survive the cold. They will also compare and contrast using hands-on animal artifacts. Advance registration is required for $12/child resident, $14/child non-resident.

Community Garden Registration for Returning Gardeners

Gardeners from the 2024 season who kept their gardens well-tended will be notified by mail in January that they have the opportunity to return for the upcoming garden season. Starting 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13, registration will be available online and in-person at Greenmead Historical Park or the Kirksey Recreation Center for returning gardeners.

A check made payable to City of Livonia could also be mailed, along with the signed Release and Hold Harmless form, and signed Community Gardens Rules form, to Greenmead Historical Park. These forms will be available online and will be included in the aforementioned letter to returning gardeners. Payment must be received by 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, in order to have a guaranteed spot in 2025. Contact Greenmead with any questions or concerns at (248) 477-7375.
