The Livonia Spree

Each year the people of Livonia celebrate the anniversary of the founding of the City with a week-long birthday party. From June 25-30, visit the Livonia Spree to get good food, watch a cornhole tournament, run a 5k, listen to live music, ride rides, see a car show, enjoy fireworks, and more! This event is held at Livonia's Ford Field. There are still spots open for the Livonia Spree 5k, so make sure you register today through Livonia Parks and Recreation's online portal. For more information, including schedules, event listings, and ways to pre-purchase ride wristbands, visit the official Livonia Spree website.

I Love the 80s to Death Murder Mystery

We're holding an 80s-theme murder mystery event at Greenmead Historical Park 3-5:30 p.m. Saturday, July 13. Tensions run rampant as backstage secrets spill out into the spotlight with like, totally tragic results! This isn’t an episode of Miami Vice! This is like…murder. It’s up to you to bust it like a ghost, for sure! Peg your jeans, slouch your socks, flash some neon, put on way too much eyeliner, and get that hair up! You are going to solve this crime in style. No time to be Too Shy! You are a Smooth Operator, and you know to listen to those Careless Whispers. It’s time to put on your Sunglasses at Night and relax. Time after time…you will solve the case. Advance registration is required for $60/resident, $65/non-resident. A retro 80s-themed meal will be provided.

#RecreatingTheRec

City, County, State and federal officials braved the heat and gathered at the site of the future Livonia Senior Wellness Center yesterday to hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the new facility.

Construction is scheduled to begin in July with exterior site work, relocating the East FitHub (Strength Hub) to the MAC Gym in September 2024 and closing the Main Gyms in July 2025 once the new West Gym is complete. The full project is expected to be completed in December 2025.

Stay up to date on construction at the Kirksey Recreation Center and Livonia Senior Wellness Center at LivoniaBuilt.org. You've already subscribed to this e-newsletter, so make sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram and bookmark the website for all the latest details.
