One of the Many Community Gardners Plots!

Looking for a space to plant and tend to your favorite fruits, vegetables, or flowers? We have a spot for you at Greenmead’s Community Garden, where plots of approximately 24x24 feet are available from May 17-Oct. 11 with water access. Gardeners must clear, prepare and maintain their own private garden. The cost per plot is $32 for residents and $45 for non-residents. One plot per household is allowed for new gardeners. New gardener registration is as follows:   

Wednesday, April 10 – 8:30 a.m. orientation followed by 9 a.m. registration for new gardener Livonia residents (In person only)

Thursday, April 11 – 8:30 a.m. orientation followed by 9 a.m. registration for new gardener non-residents (In person only)

Friday, April 12 – 9 a.m. online registration for new gardeners residents and non-residents

Summer Camp Fun!

Playground Program is a chance for kids ages 5-13 to go swimming, on field trips, and play at the playgrounds for summer camp. This camp will be 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday-Friday starting June 24 -Aug. 9. For more information, click here. Register on April 15 for residents and May 6 for non-residents. FAMOUS FIRSTS: THE HISTORY OF THE PACKARD PROVING GROUNDs

Greenmead Historical Park’s next History Lecture Series takes place at the Alexander Blue House 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, with “Famous Firsts: The History of the Packard Proving Grounds." The lecture series continues with another topic in May. If you’re looking for something to do, come to this FREE lecture. No pre-registration required.

Volleyball Camp

new VOLLEYBALL Class

Come out and learn proper volleyball techniques through Fun Time Sports at the Kirksey Recreation Center! Participants will learn the skills of bumping, volleying, and spiking in the class designed for beginners and those with limited playing experience. Classes start Monday, April 22, running from 5:30-6:25 p.m. for ages 7-10 and 6:30-7:25 p.m. for ages 11-14. Register here.
