The Joy of painting the bob ross way

Join Certified Ross Instructor Ted Simpson as he guides you in painting “fluffy clouds” and “happy little trees.” Using the same gentle step-by-step guidance as the PBS icon, Ted will help you create an entire landscape in just a couple of hours. Complete a finished painting in each session, ready for framing and admired by your friends and family. All supplies are included and no previous experience required! Classes are 6-9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, and 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, Feb. 18, at the Kirksey Recreation Center. Register here.

Don't Miss Out on Trying All Kinds of Coffee!

Coffee culture AT GREENMEAD

If you are a coffee lover, check out Coffee Culture 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at Greenmead Historical Park. This event is best for participants ages 16 and older. Sit back and sip on some coffee while you explore the history of local coffee and the differences between the blends and brews! The cost for residents is $25 and non-residents are $27. This event is presented by Gooseneck Coffee Company and advance registration is required.

Leapin' lizards: stories, snacks, and crafts

Leap on over to Greenmead Historical Park's Alexander Blue House 2-3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, for a fun afternoon of reptile and amphibian-themed stories, snacks, and crafts on a day off from school! The Huron-Clinton Metroparks will bring us some live creatures to interact with including frogs, toads, turtles, and a snake! This program is best for ages 4-10, but all children in attendance must register in advance for $10/child resident, $12/non-resident.
