Who Let the Dogs Out... Who Who

Let's make a splash at Botsford Pool 5-7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21, with the Dog Swim event. No humans allowed in the pool and up-to-date vaccinations are required. If you're interested, the cost is $5 for residents and $8 for non-residents.

Drop in and pay at the gate; no pre-registration required.

Let's Play Ball With Our Adult Coed Softball League

Adult Coed Softball registration is getting ready to close on Thursday, Aug. 17, If you have a team, the cost is $560 per team and, if you don’t, then you can register for the free agent list at no cost. The Fall Season runs from the middle of August through October, with no games played over Labor Day weekend.

All games will be played at Bicentennial Park. Teams must pay $20 per game in umpire fees on-site to the umpire before any game will be played.

Book Club Time!

Check out the Recreation Center Readers Book Club 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, at the Kirksey Recreation Center. The hot book topic this month is called “Secrets We Kept” by Lara Prescott.

"Secrets We Kept" is about a love affair that involves Pasternak and his mistress/muse Olga. New York Times Bestseller called it a "thrilling tale of secretaries turned spies, of love and duty, and of sacrifice-inspired by the true story of the CIA plot to infiltrate the hearts and minds of Soviet Russia, not with propaganda, but with the greatest love story of the twentieth century."
