New Cornhole Tournament Kicks Off Livonia Spree Week June 20

Have you ever dreamt of playing for a cornhole championship under the lights of a baseball diamond as carnival sounds play in the background? Well, we’re here to make those dreams come true! Grab a friend and sign up to participate in our new Cornhole Tournament 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, at Ford Field as we help kick off the Livonia Spree week.

The cost is $20 per team and only one team member needs to register. Teams are guaranteed two games, with additional games going into the night and playing under the lights if your team advances.

Youth Open Play Shifting to Only Saturdays For Summer

Our popular Youth Open Play has been a blast for our 5 and younger friends Tuesdays and Saturdays in the Kirksey Recreation Center party rooms. We couldn’t let the free fun stop just because the school year is ending, so we’ll be keeping it going 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays throughout the summer. However, the last 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday session will play June 13 and then break until September while Camp Swoosh utilizes that space throughout the summer.

Youth Open Play is free to attend for members or with a day pass, but a caregiver must remain present with the child for the duration of their attendance.

Trio of S'mores and Stories Evenings Kick Off June 23

Everyone loves a good bonfire. Get a feel for the camping life with our monthly S'mores and Stories event 7-8 p.m. Friday, June 23, at Greenmead Historical Park's Newburg School Field. June's event will be themed for The Great Outdoors.

Geared toward children ages 5-12, all children must be accompanied by an adult (parents don't need to register) as we enjoy roasting s'mores, telling stories and enjoying a variety of activities around the campfire. The July 21 edition will be Beach Days themed and Aug. 18 will be Camping themed.

Advance registration required, starting 30 days before each event. Sign up early, as space is limited!
