Holiday Matinee Serves as Finale for Silent Cinema of the Mitten Series

Come join us in Greenmead Historical Park's Newburg Church 12:30-2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, for the final installment in our series on Michiganders who shaped the silent movie world.

This program will include the amazing animation of John Randolph Bray, founder of the first animation studio and the creator of some astonishing classic cartoons, and two holiday shorts from film pioneer, inventor, and Michigander Thomas A. Edison, whose ingenuity helped create the film industry as we know it. Make sure to register in advance.

Winter Lifeguard Certification Preps New Staff for Safety All Year Round

Last call for our Dec. 21-23 and Jan. 2-5 American Red Cross lifeguard certification courses at the Kirksey Recreation Center!

Register to get certified and join our awesome lifeguard team at the Kirksey Recreation Center this winter. Ages 15 and older are welcome. Each course is 3-4 days.

Winter Registration Now Open!

Registration for the Winter I session of our classes and activities opened Monday for Kirksey Recreation Center members and today, Dec. 6, for Livonia residents. Registration opens Thursday, Dec. 8, for non-residents. Make sure to sign up before your favorite classes fill up! Adult classes begin Jan. 2 and youth programs Jan. 9, with both wrapping up Feb. 26.
