Light Up Livonia to Brighten City with Holiday Cheer

Do you think you have one of the best December light displays for the holidays? Let the rest of Livonia know! Start decorating now (while it's warm-ish) and register between Nov. 29-Dec. 13 to showcase your display. Mayor Maureen Miller Brosnan will pick three residences, a Clark Griswold award winner and one business with the best holiday decorations. She and Santa Claus will visit the winners to deliver the awards on Tuesday, Dec. 20.

Register online and indicate if you would like to be part of the Light Up Livonia Holiday Lights Map, which will be posted online at LivoniaParks.org for people to tour the lights.

Holiday Parade Looking for Additional Participants

There may not be snow yet, but we’re already at work preparing for the Merry & Bright Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4.

We are looking for local groups - civic, school, scouts, etc. - to join the parade on a route from Frost Middle School to Livonia City Hall. Businesses can purchase a sponsorship to also participate. Interested groups should contact Billy at wkeppen@livonia.gov.

Mailbox awaiting children's letters to Santa.

Santa's Mailbox Now Open For Business Through Dec. 2

Santa's Mailbox is back at the Kirksey Recreation Center again this holiday season! Drop off a letter in the magical mailbox from Monday, Nov. 7, until Friday, Dec. 2, and we'll make sure it gets delivered in time for a response before Christmas!

There is no cost to mail Santa these letters, but make sure the child's name and address are on the letter to Santa so he can get a response to the correct location.
