Livonia Resident Swims to Strong Showing at Olympic Trials

Livonia resident Miranda Tucker was among fellow elite American swimmers last week at the Olympic trials in Omaha. Although she didn’t make the cut for Tokyo (in most cases requiring a top-two finish), she did finish ninth in the 100-meter breaststroke in 1:07.44, which was just 2.65 seconds behind winner Lilly King’s 1:04.79. King also holds the world record at 1:04.13.

Tucker also turned in strong efforts in the 200-meter breaststroke in 2:31.76 and the 50-meter freestyle in 26.05 seconds, placing within the top 50 in the country for both.

Join Our Team in One of Several Newly Available Roles

We are looking for the next few new members of our team! Three part-time job postings were just listed for a programmer, naturalist and a Greenmead Historical Park tour coordinator. Whether you’re just trying to get your foot in the door with the parks and recreation industry, or you’re a recent retiree with a background well equipped for coordinating and planning events, one of these three roles may be perfect for you!

We are also still looking to add part-time staff to our team at the front desk, aquatics, building supervisor and facility attendant roles. All of these roles are important to keep our facilities up and running. Check them all out and apply to be the newest addition to a great team at LivoniaParks.org.
