Summer Flea Market Sunday at Greenmead Historical Park

The Greenmead Historical Park Summer Flea Market is coming up 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Sunday, June 6.

Our flea markets typically draw in approximately 4,000 visitors, so there are several new guidelines and restrictions in place for the 2021 market due to the pandemic. This includes a limit of 81 vendors to allow for increased social distancing. There will no longer be a limit on the number of shoppers at any one time. With everyone coming and going over a six-hour window, we expect everyone to have a great time browsing for some hidden treasures. Visit Greenmead.us for more details.

Admission is $3 per person ages 13 and older, paid at the gate. There are no advance ticket sales. Any reseller claims by individuals online are scammers. Vendor spots are also completely sold out.

Now Hiring/Training Lifeguards

There is a national lifeguard shortage. It has existed for a few years and the pandemic has not helped. In order to keep our two indoor and three outdoor pools running with the full array of hours starting June 19, we need more lifeguards!

June 1 Marks Four Changes Under Revised MDHHS Orders

Starting today, June 1, the Kirksey Recreation Center will resume summer hours from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays-Fridays, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays.

The Tree Fort at the Kirksey Recreation Center is now open during all regular business hours for ages 10 and younger, under supervision of a parent/guardian ages 16 and older. This is an update to the limited hours previously mentioned.

Additionally, day passes and 10-visit passes for the Kirksey Recreation Center will be accepted, and lane times at the lap pool no longer require reservations.
