The Motor City Irish Fest is an annual event that brings together the Irish and their friends to celebrate Irish culture with music, dance, food and drink, exhibits, and activities for children. Most of all, it brings together everyone for a great weekend full of fun.
Irish Fest will feature over twenty Irish bands, five Irish dance groups, pipe & drum bands, a wonderful cultural tent, Ring of Steel (stunt group from Ann Arbor – comedy, fire acts, swords, & audience participation) and an area especially for children of all ages. The children’s area will feature tin whistle lessons, the Kilted Magician, storytelling, beginning Irish dance lessons, arts and crafts, bounce houses, face painters and more. Our cultural tent will feature displays of Irish heritage along with presentations on the Traveling People (Tinkers) of Ireland and the influence on they had on Irish music history and other cultural presentations.
Great grub can be found in abundance! You could enjoy traditional fish and chips, bangers and mash, corned beef sandwiches, pizza, burgers, ice cream among all the other tempting possibilities.
