Tax Bill Payment Methods

TAX BILLS CAN NOW BE PAID WITH A CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD!

 

There are several options available to pay a tax bill with a credit card:

By phone dial:   1-800-2PAYTAX (1-800-272-9829) an automated system will take you through the process. You will need to enter the City of Livonia’s jurisdiction code. It is: 3261. Your parcel identification number is located on the tax bill just above the property address and legal description, in the upper right hand margin, or on the stub in bold print. There is a convenience fee of UP TO 3%** collected and retained by Official Payments Corporation for this service and will be added to each transaction. 

By Internet:  Pay Online You will need the same information as above.

There is a convenience fee of 3%** collected and retained by Official Payments Corporation for this service and will be added to each transaction.  Official payments will give you the amount and you will have an opportunity to decline the transaction at this point.  Your credit card statement will reflect the amount of your taxes and the amount of the convenience fee separately.  Official Payments accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.

In person:  The following credit cards, Visa, MasterCard and Discover, are now accepted at the Treasurer’s Office for tax payments only.  You will be charged a convenience fee of 2.5%, with a minimum fee of $3.95 to be charged and retained by Chase Bank.

Debit cards will also be accepted at the Treasurer’s Office for tax payments only.  A convenience fee of $3.95 will be charged and retained by Chase Bank for Debit Card transactions.

Other payment options available are:
 
Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT):  Payment is taken out of your account on the last day to pay summer taxes and either December 31st or February 28th for your winter taxes.  With this option you automatically receive a paid receipt in the mail.

For check payments, a convenient drive up drop box is located on the east side of City Hall, be sure to indicate TAXES or Treasurer’s Office on the outside of the envelope.  Payments dropped off on the last day to pay taxes will be applied as paid on time.

Several Livonia financial institutions accept tax bill payments.  Check to see if your bank or credit union does.

Use the envelope enclosed with the tax bill to mail in your payment.  If you use your own envelope, be sure to indicate TAXES or Treasurer’s Office on the outside.

The Treasurer’s Office is open 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Monday thru Friday to accept credit/debit card, check and cash payments
